ROFLMAO, elected representatives ignore what people want. They call them stupid, racist, sexist, homophobe, hicks, anti-vaxxers, Islamophobes, Xenophobes, Putinistas, and Deplorables. Even Republicans do not institute changes that their base wants or demands. Biden was installed through a process of an election coup. Trump was shackled and unable to institute his own ideas as the same people that installed Biden, attacked Trump daily and tied him to Putin. The same Putin THEY SOLD 40% of the Uranium supply of the US too. THAT is how dangerous they considered him.

Personally, I despise Putin. Russia needs to be strangled to death with a combination of economic sanctions and the full military, political and financial support of the US and Western European countries given to every country, group or faction that opposes it. Russia needs to be forced to divert as many resources as possible to defending as many fronts as possible for as long as possible. Eventually, the strain of doing so, combined with their dismal birth rate will cause the the whole rotten country to collapse once and for all. At that point, western nations can take their natural resources and block China as needed.
We should have done this 30 years ago when they slithered out of the ashes of the USSR.

Russia is doomed. Their official birthrate using their own bullshit state numbers is 1.5 per woman. At their current rate of decline they won't be able to field an army big enough to take Ukraine in 10 years. It's not a question of if they collapse sometime in the next 15 years, it's a question of when. They have 6000 nukes and a ton of natural resources. That decline and collapse needs to be managed to our benefit.
China stopped growing 10 years ago. They are getting old fast. Their population gets cut in half between 2050 and 2060. As far as their military goes, the last time they fought a war was in 1979, when Vietnam kicked their ass... in 30 days. Contrary to what you here on the news, they will never be a great military power.
Nobody is advocating a war. But pretending that the US and NATO can't and shouldn't prosecute a hard power containment of Russia is absurd and foolish.
