I could not be an airforce officer nowadays, having to drop pants and do woke training and PC speeches to airmen as they have to do nowadays “to look good” and promote “positive perception” is not my cup of tea.

I’m old. My grandfather was not a pilot.

But the B-1B and the B-2 are not my grandfather’s aircraft.

Yes, the B-52 is a very tough old bird.

It’s amazing that the B-52 was a star in “Dr. Strangelove,” a movie that came out 60 years ago, and is still in service today.

Join the U.S. Air Force - Fly the planes your grandfather flew.

First flight: 15 April 1952; 69 years ago!

Actually, there are probably some great grand dads, who flew these planes.

My brother was a part of a B-52 ground crew in the 1970s. He told me that there are a lot of “stop drills” and pop-riveted patch plates everywhere in the superstructure. There are also many dead electrical cables woven in there that have replacements pulled in beside them to do the job. They were becoming concerned about the cumulative weight of the patches and cables.

I searched YouTube for B-52s and all I got was videos of some dance band from Athens, Georgia.
