A senior Russian official warned on March 12 that Moscow could target Western shipments of military equipment to Ukraine.
Speaking on state television, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow has warned the United States that it would see the deliveries of Western weapons to Ukraine as targets.
Ryabkov said Russia “warned the U.S. that pumping weapons from a number of countries it orchestrates isn’t just a dangerous move, it’s an action that makes those convoys legitimate targets.”

Of course. Once they’re over the border they’re fair game, yes?
Seems the Russian army’s limitation is taking farm fields and shell civilians. That has been the way war has been handled in that part of europe for the past 150 years. Little care to cities, unfortunately those are western cities with value now. Someone is going to have to rebuild those, bet it is not Putins Money.
Once they’re in Ukrainian facilities or transports, yes. But not NATO transports. Just like Vietnam and foreign flagged vessels were allowed to unload cargo in Haiphong.
Notice they threatened the convoys not the nations.
The Russian army is a sitting duck tied down in Ukraine. Send them to hell.
And what human with two brain cells to rub together would expect anything else?
Did anyone honestly, sensibly expect the russians to allow anyone to ship arms for their enemy into the war zone without lifting a finger against them?
It is no less an act of war to ship arms to Ukraine than it is to give them airplanes.
How far and how fast the conflict spreads is the only question that remains. It is only a matter of time.

Well yeh, I expect they would.
That is only because WE had rules of engagement that prevented actually defeating the enemy.
The russians may be blundering fools on the battlefield but they are ruthless and have no such obstacles as rules of engagement.
No matter what you think is the best course in this war, little by little Russia is going to threaten so much that it’s worst nightmare occurs and the second front opens with NATO.
Putin is making noise as he has from the beginning to scare off that two front war.
Biden is just a afraid as Putin wants.
But the more Putin pushes, threatening astronauts and NATO assets, he’s just causing a war fever in the West.
For sure his generals want him dead before they want a war with NATO,a war Putin himself said would be “suicide” for Russia.
The only thing Russia can target is its own foot.
Russians can’t even fight off Ukrainian mud and tractors.
We were ready to go nuclear over Russian missiles in Cuba.
Putin is probably railing about attacking the convoys, but his generals mouths are dropping to the floor at the idea of war with NATO when they can’t even finish Ukraine.
Once over the border, they are in a combat zone. Obviously, if they are attacked, they will have to defend themselves.
Russian attacks here, probably won’t end well for them.
Attacking on NATO territory, would certainly be detrimental to the Russian war effort.
Putin already played the Nuclear card, because he is a position of weakness. Bad logistics, over confidence, poorly maintained equipment, conscripts, non-defense campaign, poor spying conditions approaching, and 60 year old battle strategy appears to be a bad mix.
I’m not saying this can’t turn into a disaster, but Biden is a fool and Putin is an SOB. Russia is in over its head. The only way out for Putin is to win in Ukraine. But then again failure and a war with the United States is their worst nightmare.
From our perspective, Russia needs to lose this war or it will emerge much stronger.
Putin launched the invasion of Ukraine the moment the last evacuation aircraft left Kabul, after watching NATO countries abandon their posts because the pathetic president of the United States wanted a political photo op.

Exactly correct. I’m sure Putin promised his team, no war with NATO. Biden cooperated all too well, an open pathway into Ukraine. But the Ukrainians didn’t cooperate and Putin is in an exposed position.
The trick here is to defeat Russia in Ukraine without a wider war. Like we did in Afghanistan, like they did in Vietnam.
But Biden and Europe are our weakness.
These things happen at times of weakness.
