Russia has a huge advanced biolab program anyway so why would the USA be “concerned” if the Russians got their hands on the Ukraine one?
It might be slightly embarrassing to certain people in the US Government if Russia were to release what was going on in these labs. /sarcasm.
Embarrassing is not the word I would use for this. No wonder the WEF and other associated parties are going ape***t about Ukraine.
If we (US) funded those labs, and conducted/sponsored the research, with other nasties-in-waiting, that's war crimes territory, imho.

Maybe because the US isn’t making theirs in the US and is instead making this crap in Ukraine and pretending they are not. Heck, maybe covid didn’t come from China.

The labs in Ukraine are monitoring labs put there and in other former Soviet satellite countries because when the USSR broke up the chain of custody of the Soviet Union’s dispersed biochemical weapons was either broken or in imminent peril of breaking, depending on location, and there was a need to find gainful employment for the USSR’s former weapons researchers so that they would not, as happened with Iraq, end up working for Libya, Iran, North Korea, etc. So, there was a need for a program to investigate outbreaks of illnesses to determine their origin and nature, in case part of the USSR’s stockpile got stolen.
