Looks like this is going to devolve into brinksmanship for the next few years. Russia will stack up more and more forces in their breakaway areas, while Ukraine and other former bloc states will flirt more and more with NATO.
Russia ran out of missiles, ammunition and equipment. They need time to re-stock.
Ukraine was always happy to negotiate NATO membership away. NATO doesn’t want Ukraine, anyway. Ukraine wants EU membership. THAT is what this war is really about.
