Ted did call the Jan. 6 people terrorists.
He even went on Tucker to try to explain it away.
Tucker did not buy his explanation and neither do I.
In context he ALSO said at the time of the “terrorist attack” remark, “Anyone who commits an act of violence should be prosecuted, and anyone who assaults a law enforcement officer should go to jail for a very long time.”
We can have a healthy debate about Cruz’ fitness or other qualifications to be president.
We can debate his tendency to grandstand or play both sides.
But claiming he called this specific person a terrorist over a retracted comment which NEVER applied to this person in the first place, is disingenuous at best.
It’s no different than the lie the Democrats keep repeating about Trump insulting all Hispanics based on what he said about some illegal immigrants.
It’s no different than their lies that his “both sides” statement was praising KKK and NeoNAZIs, when even at the time he made it he also made it clear he was NOT talking about those groups.
Except your comment is slightly different because at least the Democrats were only attacking someone on the other team. Your comments are attacking someone who has done a lot of good for our side.
Without Cruz’ followers Trump would not have been elected the first time. He knew when to quit. But some folks don’t.
