Why argue? We know it will fail. And may ALL leftists have to fly in planes designed by the math pushed by little flacid crooked businesscritters like Gates.
No wonder Windows s#cks.
The US is done... . . .
I say we split. One side is white people who think Math problems have exact answers, and the other side is everyone else. Spare me the Navier-Stokes and unsolved problems.
Didn’t one of the major airlines say in the last couple of years they were going to have quotas for their pilots?
Mull that one over, knowing the person in the pilot’s chair is a product of “math equity” and “anti-racist math practice.”
Old math:
John and Mary each have two apples. How many total apples do they have?
New Math:
Laquisha and Rasheed jack fee-oh-fo Land Rovers. Who da phook be you whitey?
People who have time to agonize over “microaggressions” have never been oppressed, not even one jot.
I will only fly if the pilot is a white male with some grey hair.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Is 2+2 equal to 5? It could be if you’re a liberal & don’t know math. Honestly, where do people come up with this foolishness? It’s a good thing some of the older school teachers are not around today; they would honestly not believe some of what is being taught. I know I don’t.
Bill Gates doesn’t care if American kids learn math. Big tech figures it can import everyone it needs from India. American kids don’t need anything more than reparations math.
Gee, I wish I had thought of that during Algebra class in 9th grade! Just call the teacher a racist instead of trying to do the work and study for tests in that class! But then again, back then they PADDLED unruly students! That fear of the rod sure kept me on the straight and narrow! They never had to use it on me. The threat was enough. And we didn’t fear our teachers, we respected them! Oh, the good old days!

Amen to that!
The only time I can think of where it is good to be able to estimate the correct answer... one time we had a calculator that was spitting out wrong answers. Back then you could actually send them off for repair. It is good to know about how much, how many, your answer should be. But 2 + 2 is 4 not 5. You are so right!

IIRC it was American Airlines. Won’t be flying them anytime soon.
Please add me to the list. Just started homeschooling my 8th grader.
Sure thing.
If you have any questions, just holler.
Targeting the middle school grades (6-7-8) ensures they can effectively cripple most of those students from ever gaining higher order math and thinking skills. Of course, some will break through the fog and learn anyway while others will have parents who hold their children accountable for real learning with supplemental instruction. This smaller group will hold the keys to the kingdom.
Super fuzzy math
