he Heights is a great place to launch all sorts of weapons easily and accurately in to Israel. The Israelis can see Damascus on a clear day on the other side.
Should the Heights falls it would be a very bloody battle to get it back or tanks would roll through Israel. See Yom Kippur war 1973
