Its a huge gamble for Putin/Russia. No one even knows what Russia's exact goals are. I highly doubt its a punitive mission at this point. Russia has said "screw you, NATO" and will probably take everything along the Black Sea and East of the Dnieper. Some people think Russia will take all of Ukraine. I don't think so, as Russia would have to hold it - but what do i know?
But IF Putin is successful - Yes indeed, not only Eastern Europe will have to think twice, but all of USA's allies.

If Putin limits himself to the Eastern Provinces and Crimea, fine, I was prepared to let him have it, but if he goes further than that to Kiev and threatens the Polish border, then it's on, and that's the low-hanging fruit. Then you get to the negotiating table. I still hold out that what Putin really wants is the guarantee that Ukraine will be neutral, but more and more I fear he's going for the whole shebang.

If Russian special forces can “liberate” all of the documentation on American politicians’ - particularly the Bidens’ - dirty dealings in Ukraine, there may be a silver lining to all of this.
I was looking at the maps of reported explosions and the only places not being bombed are the ones Putin is claiming to be “rescuing.”

Let me point out a few things.
Russia has a very capable, modern, large, non woked military
Russia has better technology in at least SAMs and hypersonics
NATO, European, doesn’t want to fight or commit troops
Any conflict with Russia is gonna hurt and kill thousands of NATO troops who probably are not going to win anyways.
So instead of all the war talk, how about some diplomacy?
Assuming that now Russia is in the mood for diplomacy.
I mean yes, we screwed up to let it get to this point, but now that we’re here, it’s water under the bridge.
I don’t know yet what we’re exactly dealing with with Putin, frankly, I never imagined him doing what he did, I figured his actions would be limited to the Luhansk and Donbass regions.
It’s accurate. The US Government evacuated its embassy staff to Lviv, Lwow, or whatever you have to call it this week to avoid getting sent to Belzec or whatever. State Department is extremely active in western Ukraine.
I think Putin learned chamberlains lesson. He realized that NATO could not be appeased and it would take actually enforcing a red line.
If he goes right up to the Polish border, which I don’t think he will, how is that different than NATO going right up to the Russian border?
