OTTAWA -- Tamara Lich, one of the leading organizers behind protests against COVID-19 restrictions and the Liberal government on Parliament Hill, has been denied bail.
An Ontario court judge issued the decision in Ottawa this morning, saying she believed there was a substantial likelihood Lich would reoffend if released.
A separate bail hearing is scheduled this morning for fellow protest organizer Patrick King. Related Stories

Lich was arrested last Thursday and charged with counselling to commit mischief and promised during a bail hearing on Saturday to give up her advocacy of the protest and return to Alberta.

This is a quirk of English English vs American English. The charge of mischief is a serious one in Commonwealth Nation’s it carries up to a life term if the conduct was a danger to life. Which is to say a danger of serious injury.

One cannot serve in parliament if they have been convicted of an Indictable offence. Its like a felony in the States but in a Commonwealth Nation. Ca code 430 (3)(a) is an Indictable offence if they can get a conviction on mischief with a value of $5000 in lost property or lose of use or enjoyment of property that’s enough to trigger 430.3.a there is a class action lawsuit in the works by residence and businesses of Ottawa to hold her and the other leaders of the protest responsible for lose of use of property via blockade and also lose of enjoyment under 430.1.c and 430.1.d if they get the sum total of that above 5000 that’s into Indictable offence levels. Canada has surprisingly strong private property protections in its common law codes. It will be on her solicitors to prove she didn’t facilitate any blockades of private property or business uses by encouraging such activity by voice,print work,or actions.
This is an atrocity.
You don’t jail someone or keep them in jail on the basis of what you think they might do down the road.
If the person is a flight risk for a felony like murder that is one thing.
But legally peacefully protesting against the government is not even a jailable offense to begin with and to keep her locked up on the basis of what some WEF financed judge thinks she might do or say is just wrong on so many levels.
