WTH are you talking about? They did absolutely nothing to violate the state rights of the north.
Once, they lost the Government they had a hissy fit.
I think it has more to do with the fact that 72% of all the taxes were being paid by them, while the far more populous Northern states paid very little in the way of taxes.
