Three members of San Francisco’s school board were ousted Tuesday in the wake of widespread backlash over the slow reopening of schools shut down by COVID-19 and a controversial plan to rename dozens of school sites.
School board president Gabriela López, vice president Faauuga Moliga and commissioner Alison Collins were all stripped of their positions during a special election, according to tallies by the San Francisco Department of Elections.
Furious parents launched the recall effort in January 2021 after arguing the school board was pushing progressive politics instead of acting in the best interests of children amid the pandemic.

Where’s the headline about the terrorists who launched the recall?
I wish that was sarcasm...
“Kay ef ar ceeeee...San Francisco...”
Two of them were the school board president and vice president. Interesting.
I’ve heard that school board membership is often used as a springboard to a political career in higher elected positions. Looks like these three got cut off at the knees.
None of the tallies were even close. Citizens are angry about all the ‘wokeness.’

The proof will be in the pudding when we find out who replaces them. Color me pessimistic.
Unfortunately, the über-lefty mayor gets to appoint their replacements.
Still, it’s good to see - wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out.
I was in SF a couple of weeks ago and it was ALL over the TV airwaves - the “throw the bastards out” had the most airtime.
Of course, those ousted are screaming about “racism” as to why they were thrown out.
With San Francisco you are right to be pessimistic. Mayor London Breed supported this recall. I’m more interested in what it says about GOP chances in November nationwide. I want the Democrats to keep campaigning on the idea that parents should have no say in their children’s education.
Seems they all approached 80%. I think a part of this may have had to do with the probability that most of the people who were voting were those really angry about these people, and the general public just didn’t bother to show up.
And that’s actually how all elections should go. That is, only INFORMED voters actually vote.
“The majority of San Franciscans who voted in Tuesday’s special election were in support of recalling three San Francisco school board members, with 79% voting to oust Alison Collins, 75% saying yes to recalling Gabriela López and 72% opting to remove Faauuga Moliga, according to tallies by the San Francisco Department of Elections.”

My take on this is that there was a large Asian contingent that was angry at these folks who were marginalizing Asian students, dumbing down the school curriculum in favor of promoting black student so feelings wouldn’t be hurt when tests were failed.
The Democrat Party will probably take care of these loyal foot soldiers by finding some other city or county positions they can be appointed to.
Gotta stay on the public teat don’t you know. They certainly won’t go out into the private sector looking for jobs.

That would rule out a rather large portion of voters. ;)
So, the people that replace them will be just as bad if not worse, the only difference will be that they will be instructed to keep their mouths shut.
The ideology will still be there, and it will be full speed ahead, just quieter.
I was on a board with someone long ago. They are now the president of the school board. And yes, he is using it as a stepping stone to higher office.

^This.
I’d imagine I’m one of only a handful of SF voters on FR. Turnout was low, I think around 25%. At my precinct, it was just me and some “angry Asian parents.”
Maybe these three turkeys would have skated if this had been a November presidential election and every SF wacko in town turns out to vote, twice.
Nonetheless, a win is a win. And we’ll take it.

Wait . . . There’s more!
