Actually Perkins Coie is simply a symptom of a fully corrupted legal system which needs to be completely reformed top to bottom. One reform is to stop allow the Bar (the legal profession) to police and discipline itself. It is very rare an attorney is disbarred yet many at even the most “prestigious” law firms are involved in unethical and illegal practices. Perhaps it is time to replace bar self policing with citizen panels similar to juries to review situations where ethics and malpractice charges are brought by clients against members of the bar.
