Weak GOP House Leader McCarthy Shows His True Colors – Sides with McConnell and Democrats – Calls Jan 6 a “Violent Insurrection”

Anyone who thinks Kevin McCarthy would make an effective Speaker of the House should reassess.

(snip) Years later it was discovered that Kevin McCarthy was living with pollster Frank Luntz in Washington D.C. despite having a wife and kids in California.

And in May of 2021 McCarthy said, ““I don’t think anybody is questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election. That’s all over with.”

On Thursday McCarthy described the January 6 protests as a “violent insurrection.”

His goal is to please Democrats and the media.

The Daily Mail reports:

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy has conceded that January 6th was a ‘violent insurrection,’ saying he agreed with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s description of that day.

‘No one would disagree with that,’ McCarthy told reporters on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.

His clarification comes after McCarthy was mocked by Democrats for walking away from an ABC News reporter who was asking him about the Republican National Committee censure of Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney for serving on the committee investigating the insurrection.

America First will never be a real thing until those who have to implement it believe in it. His rally cry should be GOP first and then America. Without the former you won’t have the latter.
