A factitious disorder imposed on self, where those affected feign or induce disease, illness, injury, abuse, or psychological trauma to draw attention, sympathy, or reassurance to themselves.
Exactly. And there’s also Munchausen by proxy, where the caregiver makes her own child ill so as to garner sympathy. Like all the parents who claim their child was trans even as a toddler.
