No. He finished with less than a third of the popular vote—the conservatives had slightly more, but the liberals were more efficient. Loads of people stayed home. Not that many people liked Trudeau, but O’TOole wasn’t worth voting for. And now he’s gone.
They may close down parking garages and block highways by tomorrow morning for example.
It’s a parliamentary system. Trudeau didn’t win a face to face vote. His party won more seats, and he is their chosen leader. At least that’s my understanding of their system. Someone correct me if I’m mistaken.

Sounds like they are trying to force a confrontation that will allow them to claim the truckers are violent “extremists.”
