It should be clear by now that the police ARE the agents of tyranny that the second amendment was created to protect us from.

In Colonial times, the Redcoats were here as the King's "law enforcement" and enforcers of tax collection. Their purpose was to keep the population obedient and paying their taxes.
Today's standing army is composed of the multitude of armed "federal agents", plus the local police who have been taken over through federal funding to enforce the federal will.
