That is a question most, if not all, believers have asked themselves (I will admit it whether they want to or not).

It kind of goes along with "Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?" and "Why does God allow good things to happen to bad people?"

I've never heard a completely satisfactory answer but the closest anyone has come is this: Without evil, we wouldn't know what good is (and vice-versa). Just as: without darkness, we wouldn't know what light is. Without sound, we wouldn't know what silence is. Without heat, we wouldn't know what cold is. And on and on.

I don't know that there is an answer that will satisfy us on this side of Heaven but the important thing to focus our thoughts on is that to one degree or another we are able to play a part in how those things affect and effect our lives.

To Torba's point, that is a tall ask.

We can't even come to agreement on things such as the rapture. Some preach a pre-tribulation rapture and can quote chapter and verse to prove their stance. Others preach a mid-trib rapture and can quote chapter and verse to prove their point. Others preach a post-trib rapture and others preach no rapture at all and can quote chapter and verse.

And each shouts, "Heretic!", at the other.

And don't even get me started on the topic of speaking in tongues.

It's a tall ask but I appreciate where Torba's coming from.

There are three different heaven/earth ‘ages’, according to Peter. (IIPeter 3). We currently are nearing the end of the second heaven/earth age. The ‘first’ heaven /earth age is when ‘Lucifer’ also known as the Serpent, ‘tree of the knowledge of good and evil’, the old dragon, king of Babylon, the accuser.

Now when the Hollywood hunk, pretty boy, rebelled he drew with him a third of the ‘sons of God’.. Revelation 12 lays out the history and future prophecy.

This heaven/earth age which is ‘now’, allows every soul created to take this flesh journey…. Not all souls will take this ‘flesh’ journey, John 3 is Christ explaining the first requirement to see the kingdom of God is to be born from above. The book of Jude describes those that refused, they are not named, but referred to as ‘fallen angels’.

Isaiah and Ezekiel describe the rise and fall of Satan… Satan is the only named entity that has already been judged to death…. Satan decided he was God, look what he offered Christ, if Christ would bend a knee to him. Some call this the temptation of Christ, Christ was not the least bit tempted.. rather this was a tutorial for the children in the methods and means of the great deceiver.

Oh, by the way, Satan is allowed to role play one big role… he gets tossed out of heaven to play Like he is Jesus…. Come bend a knee to the fake, wonder how many will fall for his deception again?

Perhaps someone could explain why God allows Satan to exist.

God created Satan, or Lucifer, the Star of the Morning.

Don't forget that God has omniscience. He knows everything without limit.

Why would he allow Satan to corrupt and ruin mankind who He loves and created?

This is Plan A. There is no Plan B. Without evil, there would be no choice. Without choice there is no Love. God created us to Love Him.
