I’m sure the J6 Inquisition can find a way to blame it on insurrectionists. DC jail having to feed all those Deplorables has to account for some of this.

DC. belongs to Congress. Congress needs to take back its city from the incompetents. When Republicans return, they should immediately seize their city and retrocede the inhabited portion to Maryland. Then the current DC government should be abolished and a manager appointed who would oversee the federal district administration.
The 3 presidential electoral votes? It’s likely democrats would clamor for an amendment that would overturn the 23rd amendment as Republicans would be able to cast them in 2024. Then, no more chance of another state.
