My wife is 58 and is vaxxed. She tested today and we’ll she how she tests. I’m just sharing this because this is not anecdotal evidence to me. This is real life.
EXACT same experience for me. A 5-6 day cold. From top of shoulders up. No fever. No loss of taste or smell. A bit of a headache, sore throat, and congestion.
I’m a handful of years younger than you and I was armed for COVID, which I got from my wife a couple weeks back.
I had COVID-19 for 1.5 days. She had it for two and a half weeks, yet the same regimen, albeit, started mostly one day delayed, due to being on vacation.
COVID-19 should have been worse for me than her, due to age and other characteristics.
have a gin and tonic and a cigar, fuggem ;)
We've gone from China Corona Virus 2019 to just covid, which covers about 9 active viruses.
Good on ya. Get well.

FWIW, I had “something - cold/sinus” in late 2019 that gave me a lingering cough for about a month.Meh.
Thanksgiving 2019 the OG strain.
Fever for all of four hours, then massive headache that is indescribable.
It made my eyes roll up in my head, then I was doing the Marty Feldman eye.
Had to do the rest of my shift with one eye closed.
Headache stopped, chest congestion for two weeks then done.
2020, not so much as a sniffle.
Thanksgiving 2021, 103 fever, joint aches, everything either smelled flowery or bad.
Never lost sense of smell or taste just experienced it being altered.
The worst was being hungry, having a 103 fever and unable to eat because everything we had was dairy based as everything else gets eaten at the start of the week!
Oh, interrupted sleep.
It messed with my sleep, was lucky to drop off for two hours at a time.
LOL don’t worry about him. This isn’t a blog pimp, so you’re safe. Hope you’re feeling better.
I have ordered the nasal atomizers and the betadine...just to have on hand.
One day last week I woke up with a significantly sore throat. For me that has always been the first symptom of an oncoming cold, which is rare for me in recent years. No other symptoms, but I felt lousy all day. The next day my throat was better, but I still felt rotten. So I decided to take a tab of “Vitamin I” and in a couple of hours I felt great. No other symptoms since then. Was this the dreaded Omicron everyone is panicking over? I may never know.
Smokers supposedly do better with Covid, so that’s a plus for you. Also you most likely have omicron, the mildest variant of Covid thus far. That should work in your favor too.
Did they test you with the old PCR tests?
Thanks for sharing. I appreciate hearing real life stories without hidden agendas to wade through.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
“5’9”, 189”. I forgot to mention few grays and very handsome. (Yes, I’m in the other two fingers.)
We’re 68, unvaxxed, and in pretty good health/shape other than hypertension. Hubby works in a restaurant while I’m currently unemployed, yet we’ve never gotten sick since March 2020. I think I got it worse than my husband because I’ve had bronchitis multiple times over the years so my lungs have sustained more damage. I also smoke when I drink which is about 5-6 cigarettes a month.
We’ve been taking vitamins C, D, K and B Complex along with quercetin, zinc, calcium, CoQ 10, and biotin for over a year. About 3 months ago I added turmeric, nigella sativa, NAC, alpha lipoic acid, lysine, magnesium, pantothenic acid and melatonin. After we got sick, we added ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. I’m pretty sure I’d be a lot sicker if I wasn’t taking the above.
On December 8 it began with a massive headache, mild fever, then coughing, then congestion in sinus, then in lungs. All in slow motion, it took all of four weeks to become symptom free. Vaccinated with Phizer in March. My supplement regime: 10K IU D3, K2, magnesium, B complex (I was limiting animal protein), boron, quercetin, zinc, C. 70 YO.
“... quercetin, D3, zinc, C, melatonin, multi’s, and NAC ...”
You’ve got the right regimen. Keep drinking plenty of liquids and plan on having to get a lot of rest. You should be fine. You’re doing it all right.
If it was two years ago it might be mildly interesting but right now it just looks like someone needs some attention.
2nd time lasted 2 days.
3rd time lasted 1 day.
4th time I am just now getting over. It has been worse than the 2nd and 3rd, but not nearly so bad as the first time.
Didn't have a cough the first three times. This one has given me a cough, but it is slowly going away.
Chills and fever occurred at different stages with each iteration i've had. Sometimes they lasted for days, and sometimes they lasted for a few hours.
The virus mutates fast and variations can reinfect you. Some versions of it are worse than others.
How bad you react to it will depend on your genetics, your health and which flavor of the bug you have picked up. I think your preventative treatments will help you a lot, and may stave off the worst of it.
Just received word last week that a good friend of mine has died from it. He was considerably older than me, and significantly obese. Also in poorer health.
Got word this week that his brother died a few days later. His brother was younger and healthier, but it wasn't enough.
