“The wonderful thing about the way I was raised is that no one ever told me that I couldn’t do those things,”
A just world would flog her for saying this.
The fake news racket panders to frauds in business just the same as it panders to frauds in politics. What a surprise!
The press in this country is such a miserable farce.
Holmes committed the worst crime imaginable. She ripped off rich people.
Don’t forget the turtleneck....
BTW, it’s important to note what DIDN’T happen.
She did NOT raise any money in Silicone Valley.
No one there bought her crap story. She was NOT a disruptive tech start up like we have come to know. She went outside Silicone Valley to people like Mattis, and the media, an they fueled her fraud....not the regulars
Apparently, there is no shortage of horny boomer men and feminist boomer women ready to fall for a strong, independent girlboss-extraordinaire-in-a-Steve Jobs-turtleneck who breaks all those pesky and inconvenient stereotypes about “women in tech.”

Holmes used Job’s turtleneck to invoke a psychological response. She’s wearing a black turtleneck, just like Jobs. Ergo, she’s a female Steve Jobs!
Explains why the feminists are obsessed with hating Elon Musk.
spot on....
And it’s more than the genetic devolution.
It’s also the virtues acquired to get to a position of wealth/privilege. One works hard and then is able to give the kids a hand up which they didn’t have. But that cuts both ways because some kids never move beyond entitlement and don’t acquire the virtues of having worked hard and being industrious.
I remember once a sports writer pointing out that no boxing champion ever came from any position in society except from the very bottom. Makes perfect sense. And no fighters had dads who were rich professional boxers. (That said, Ken Norton’s son did legit play in the NFL.....truly exceptional).
In any event, good and insightful post.
I predict she serves less than three years in a minimum security facility. When she gets out, she'll sell books and appear on talk shows.
Eventually someone will invent a device that actually does the testing that Theranos faked and Holmes will get partial credit in the media for development.
Holmes went to Stanford, one of professors there who was female, all along tried to tell people Holmes was a fraud, no one listened to her.
A chemistry is performed so that a chemical reaction occurs and generates a signal from the chemical interaction with the sample, which is translated into a result, which is then reviewed by certified laboratory personnel.” The New Yorker’s Auletta apparently let that ridiculous line glide past him and into the pages of the prestigious magazine without blinking.
This is why con artists think they’re so smart and everyone else is so stupid. They get away with absolute absurdities such as the above. Heck maybe they are right…
These Revolver staffers are BRUTAL.
The ignorance of American aristocracy is why freedom has to be the number 1 issue.
These people are too dumb to hold the reigns of power.
What does it tell us when a battle hardened marine corps general known for strategic genius is taken in?
They WANTED to think they were supporting the next FEMALE Steve Jobs. This is very important in the push for women in STEM endeavors. Holmes was their poster girl. That she looked good on TV and magazine covers helped.
Even when flags were being raised early on, accusations were met with the scorn of being sexist, of not wanting women to succeed in male-led fields.
If anyone is interested, here is the CNBC American Greed episode about Elizabeth Holmes.

And we heard it here first on Free Republic, as is the usual way. The Brandon Media is utterly predictable.
Thank you for finding this. I followed this case for over 5 years (The Epstein case for 15.) The WSJ had excellent coverage for years and weekly podcasts during the trial.
For a while I was wondering if the defense was going to use some form of a mental disorder claim, Cluster B in particular. Maybe they will at sentencing, or maybe they will continue with her claim of innocence and ignorance(and abuse.)
That his plan melted into a puddle when she wagged her pretty little fanny?
“ima just a little gurl”
