In the past week Buffalo Wild Wings added a $0.99 service fee and said "This service fee helps us operate our takeout business". I thought that the price of the food was what paid to operate the takeout business. It's not like table service where they need real estate, tables, chairs, carpeting, servers and cleanup afterward. Unless they add a $1.99 service fee for eating in. I wouldn't put it past them.

Then as an added kick in the crotch, the service fee is a taxable item (unlike carry-out food in Ohio), so they add an extra 7 cents sales tax for the privilege of paying an extra service fee.

Just be honest and raise the price rather than trying to sneak an extra buck on the bill.

Oh, while I'm ranting, they also automatically add a tip for carry-out. You have to select "other tip" to change it back to zero. I tip (pretty well) for table service - not sticking a bag of food on the shelf for me to grab.

My walmart served excellent buffalo wings [until they muddled with the recipe] for $6.89/lb. They have jumped to $9.99/lb. [Just the wings saw that dramatic an increase...tenders only went up $1/lb and a 8 piece fried chick is still $6.89...a loss leader I imagine.] NO thanks.

My Chinese place with their superior 5 spice wings went from 10 for 8.99 to 11.99 but you still get 10. I suck it up tho because they are that tasty.
