Shareholders in Google and YouTube are pressing the tech giants to disclose any requests they have received from the Biden administration to scrub politically "problematic" information from the platforms, according to a copy of a shareholder proposal obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

The National Legal and Policy Center, an ethics watchdog group that holds a voting stake in Google and YouTube's parent corporation Alphabet, submitted the shareholder proposal to the company this week, following a string of controversies over Google and YouTube's removal of videos that question the Biden administration's COVID-19 policies. ..."

I have a hard time believing they would be truthful even if the majority votes to reveal.

I might agree with you...the tech side could chose to just make up a story and go with it. The stock people within the company and the lawyers...will freak out with that strategy and discuss serious impact problems if a fake story is told. Stock-holder meetings would then become an intense affair.

I’ve been to around six stock-holder meetings in my life, and there are various challenges often put to the boards of companies. You don’t want to trigger some big scandal and see earnings shot for two or three years.

If they’re acting as AGENTS OF THE GOVERNMENT, then they ARE the government, at least regarding the First Amendment, and they should be held to the same standard.
