That was the year they combined the obama family vacation with an hour’s “ memorial service” spent tthrowing Granny Dunham’s ashes into the Blowhole ( remember she died the day after the election results) …since Barry was waay too busy in the 7 weeks after she died to schedule a funeral attendance for the woman who raised him,
I seem to recall that there were two planes ferrying that family back and forth that Christmas. I can’t remember the details - she stayed and flew back on another government plane? That may be it. She didn’t fly back with him to DC the 2nd time he went back and she flew back later? Drat - it was difficult to keep track of all their vacationing on OUR DIME! I’m not talking about the vacation homes as I trusted that we DIDN’T pay for those but the actual flying to/fro. I remember well that he always threw in a little “BUSINESS” on any flight on Air Force One so it qualified as presidential duties. No matter; I have no doubt we always got the raw end of any of those trips!
I was wrong about 2008 he wasn’t president until 2009 when he took the oath. Can’t recall what year it was he made that trip back and forth - HI/DC/HI/DC during one vacation!
