My husband was just talking about clove gum and clove seasonings today. I didn’t know they made that flavor in lifesavers.
I grew up in the 50's, and they were available then. According to Wikipedia, Clove Life Savers were first introduced in 1919. Then: "In 1981, Nabisco Brands Inc. acquired Life Savers from the E.R. Squibb Corporation. A number of early mint flavors, including Cl-O-Ve, Vi-O-Let, Lic-O-Rice and Cinn-O-Mon were discontinued due to poor sales."
There are several different Clove hard candies available via Amazon. I might give them a shot one of these days. Butter Rum is another flavor I liked, and they still make them. I'm diabetic, and found that Brach's makes a sugar-free Cinnamon hard candy, which is very good. We used to pay a nickel for a package of Life Savers when I was a kid.
