Manchin is bold, energetic and formidable at his job.
You would not think he was 74 y/o, but he is.
Perhaps Mr. Manchin does not want to jump into a different party at this late stage of his career.
He may also relish the valued position of being the Bete Noir to many of Biden’s bombastic budget bumblings.
The late John McCain also valued that kind of fence sitter position.
Well heck.. it pays him big time. He is the best kabuki ever. But, darn he gets paid for it. Hollywood unions should b skimming from him.
