I have a couple friends like that. We talk building models, playing wargames, all sorts of history and geopolitics including current international stuff. We just avoid domestic politics, President Trump, Democrat scum, and the like.
Clark Gable was another who went on combat missions. In fact, Stewart was pallbearer at Gable’s funeral.
That is a great movie, it’s been a while since I’ve seen it. I’ll have to look for it, maybe it’s streaming somewhere.🙂

James Stewart was a lightweight before the war and came back a heavyweight actor after the war. He saw and experienced much.

Jane claims to have become "Chrustian," and maybe she has; but after reading her oen summary of what thoughts she has had, sounds ,ore like she is merely toying with the idea rather than committing herself into serving Him as Lord and Master unreservedly and irreversibly.
It doesn't seem to me that the Fondas or many/most of today's movie stars have the character of a Jimmy Stewart.
How did Hollywood descend from a group of mostly, but not entirely, patriotic Americans to the America haters we have today?
Story I heard was that Hank and Jimmy got into it one night and it came to blows being exchanged. Afterwards I reckon they just decided to leave some subjects be, when around each other.
That’s generally how adults used to handle differences of opinion.
