Italy knew of - and allowed - the deadly Palestinian terror attack on the Rome synagogue in 1982

Italy Betrayed its Jews in fear of the PLO

It has long been a "secret" that was always known that European countries had "secret" agreements to help with diplomatic aid certain Palestinian terror groups and allow them to work on its soil, as long as those grous didn't committ terror attacks against them.

Now it turns out that Italy (at least) took this one step further as a report emerges in the news site "Times of Israel" which proves that Italy disregarded intel that a terror attack was planned against the Great Synagogue in Rome in 1982 and allowed it to go ahead - with deadly results.

"Italian media on Friday published documents that appeared to confirm long-held accusations that Italy had agreed on a deal not to interfere with Palestinian terror attacks on Jewish targets and had failed to prevent a 1982 assault on a Rome synagogue in which a 2-year-old boy was killed."

It only took 40 years for the truth to get out. That doesn’t bode very well.

Things must be going pretty well if you have to go back 39 years to find something to be mad about.

Oh, and by the way... your blog sucks. Get a job.

Well, you know, when terror attacks happen its because countries “apparently allow” it. Not from a failure in intelligence or an instance of terrorists outfoxing security, no, it’s because it was “apparently allowed”…Because, why? If you’re trying to hint that Italians must just hate Jews, so much that they “apparently allow” bombs to go off in their capital in the hopes that it kills a Jew or two, just say it.

Get him Humble!!!
I was curious
From Wikipedia:"The synagogue was attacked on 9 October 1982 by 5 armed Palestinian terrorists at the close of the morning Sabbath service. One person, Stefano Gaj Taché (2 years), was killed."

I guess they weren't very good at terrorism if 5 of them only managed to kill one 2 year old.

Governments violation of public trust in those days shouldn’t expect trust today.

Didn’t say it and didn’t mean it! The point of the article is that a European country made a deal with a terror orgainzation to attack certain types of its citizens in order that others would not get attacked.

In this case, it was the PLO and their war on Jews - but tomorrow, it could be any group in any country.

BTW - this is just the tip of the iceberg, since not only did European governments have this deal with the PLO, but it also agreed to give it political backing which reaches up unti our days.

Thanks for the post and the comment. A blast from the past:

In the 80s my Israeli uncle told us he never traveled with French airlines. The reason as he told us was that the French government had made a deal with Arab terrorist groups. So far so good, but as he said, one will never be told when this deal is off!

Some history:

In 2008, Francesco Cossiga, member of the former Christian Democratic Party (DC) who served as minister of interior between 1976-78 and held the title of prime minister between 1979-80 and president of Italy from 1985 to 1992, cast doubt on the culpability of the neo-fascists.

In an interview with an Israeli newspaper, he argued that the Bologna attack was an act of retaliation by Palestinian terrorists because the government in Rome had violated the so-called Lodo Moro — a decades-old secret agreement between Rome and the Palestinian Liberation Organizations (PLO), in which the Palestinians offered to spare Italy from PLO orchestrated terrorist attacks in return for Rome’s diplomatic support and for allowing the PLO to roam freely in Italy.

Translated Italian news regarding the original article and investigation regarding the Lodo Moro agreement: https://www.italy24news.com/local/296413.html It is important to know our history. In the long run agreement with terrorists (be they state actors or individual terror groups) is never good.
