I do not think it is sold openly. It is not authorized for use outside of clinicals they are doing in Osaka I believe, although they might already be prescribing it. The prime movers in Japan's recovery essentially from COVID were the two vaccines, which as I said took forever to get approved here after multiple retesting and clinicals, i.e. they would not accept the clinical testing data from abroad on non Japanese and wanted a testbed of Japanese patients to try it out on. There was initially a temporary hold on Moderna being used, but it was reapproved. That is the one I had.
Japan also never approved the use of ivermectin for use against COVID-19. The doctor who suggested in August it might be an option - if further research found it to be effective - was chair of the Tokyo Medical Association (TMA), which is not a governmental agency and has no authority to make such a decree. Nor is ivermectin listed as an approved treatment by the Japanese government. I know of NO doctors here prescribing it. Absolutely none whatsoever. But I do now there were some bogus "news sites" back in the states, making some wild claims--since discredited.

Little did that TMA Chair know how his comments would be misused and be represented as his speaking for the government of Japan.
Hack web sites like “The Daily Expose” were prime abusers of twisting Haruo‘s comments.
