Ugh! I get choked up just thinking about that! Love, Billy
Many days when I’d turn him on I’d think..”ok Rush, talk me off the cliff one more time”. And he had a knack to do that.
How did you get to listen to him so much when he was on from 12-3?
I first found him in 1995, 5yrs after opening my large 20ac Nursery/ Garden Center & Landscape Contracting Business, and began advertising on his local York PA station affiliate, WSBA-910 AM.
Business increased measurably 40%+ and I had to staff-up bigtime to handle all the new Conservatives who replaced the PO’d, disgruntled demonKKKrats and libtards, who mercifully left my business in “protest”.
He’d talk me down “from the ledge”, many times, as he did with you. God rest his soul,
I still cannot bring myself to listen to anything between 11a - 2p CST here in the Chicago area market. I used to work while listening to Rush. Now I just work.
Fastest 30+ years on radio. He spoke for me. So eloquently, using words I couldn't find, feelings I couldn't find a way to articulate and no one does that any longer.
What was amazing about him was how he predicted what the left would do and sure enough, they would do it and he would say “These people are so predictable” and I would be laughing my butt off. He was always way ahead of them and like a chess master would absolutely know what they were going to do sometimes even months in advance.
WLS plank owner here when his show went national in Aug 1988. RIP Rush...
Another thing that is amazing is that he was the #1 radio personality while 100% deaf. Says so much about the man, but also about those who worked with him and helped create the environment that made that possible.
Rush has had a couple of subs for him that I liked but I think were only in their local markets. Sure wish one of them would go national and replace Bongino
I get Bongino either on local WSBA-910 or WMAL-105.9, and wind-up listening to Chris Plante’s Podcasts, or running errands. Bongino just isn’t my choice of Talk Radio, and reminds me of a 11yr old kid who gets all excited over nothing, just to hear himself rant.
Ditto that sentiment.
I miss Rush too.
I remember that day. I had just left to start my shift. I heard the theme start and quickly the announcer introed Katheryn. When she said that he passed, I remember yelling “NO!”. I was utterly depressed for the rest of the day.
I doubt there will ever be anyone like him.
