We’ve a friend who finds Osteen’s positivism helpful. I can understand this. So I try not to say anything that might undermine our friend’s faith. But we took one look at this pastor and it was apparent he likes money too much. Perhaps he might be reminded that the original followers of Jesus were known as “the poor”

I have listened to Osteen on TV, and he is uplifting and motivating, although to me he seems very unidimensional. He does seem very interested in MONEY, which is never a good mix with the word of God.
I used to enjoy Joel’s father, John Osteen. It’s somewhat amazing that Joel transitioned from the video department to mega-ministry leader. Usually those transitions don’t make it. He did have his mother’s help. I’ve always thought he’d be watching those videos and think “That guy shouldn’t do that...” and pre-polished his presentation. He may have over-pre-polished it.
