People used to believe that riding in an open car at over 20 mph would kill you and later on that flying faster than the speed of sound was very dangerous.
Things are said to be impossible until they are not.

There was a time when people were sure that if you traveled at over thirty miles per hour that you eyeballs would squish all over your face. There was a time when nobody has radio, computers, or even airplanes. We are only about 150 years into our technology, and you want to assume that we know everything?
Those objects are here. It is only safe to assume that they know how to "fly around" the speed of light using means we do not yet know anything about.
