None of the boomer era smallpox vaccine are good anymore. In the military it was every 3 years while there was a threat from biowarfare.

Sorry not buying into it. You cite references from the CDC, I no longer trust one word they say, they are liars and fear mongers. You can add to my list the medical “ professionals”, and of course anything that will come out of Brandon’s mouth. At 63, I changed nothing in my life, caught the C flu, and now have lifelong immunity. In my childhood years, got the smallpox shot,and again in the Army ,maybe if I can recall ( back when a vaccine was defined as giving immunity), you ain’t gonna fool us older and wiser bunch into another scam, you youngsters can feed off the fear….us older and wiser bunch just want to be left alone. You best heed our wishes.
This sounds like a repeat of an article a few years ago where an employee found a couple old vials of smallpox the same way...

The smallpox eradication program was one of humanities greatest achievement. Only a fool would refuse a 95+% effective vaccine I got anthrax and smallpox inoculation while in the service less than 20 years ago. If there was an active case anywhere in North America I’d want the booster for sure why anyone wouldn’t is crazy it’s one of the oldest most effective vaccines in human history. If you tolerated the first dose the booster is almost assuredly tolerated as well.
I think you nailed it. Why else would they be frozen?
