Bull crap on providing the military equipment ... look what happened in Afghanistan.
The Ukrainians are completely different as a people than the tribal Afghans. And the Ukrainians hate the Russians, thus arming them makes sense to me, it would not be a wasted effort as Afghanistan turned out to be.
