A much bigger deal is being made out of this than it actually is. They're not stopping fans from chanting the phrase if they want to. They are simply saying they will act against people selling Let's Go Brandon merchandise that uses trademarked NASCAR images.

That is the a normal procedure for any business. In fact, if a business fails to protect abuses of its trademark, it can lose legal protection for that trademark in general.

You are corrrect about C and TM infringements.

It’s a shame that companies have to look so petty in doing so. But they could lose all control of any distinct look and lose it in a sea of similars. Think McDonald’s simple M and colors, and what could happen.

Thanks for bringing the thread back to earth. There is simply no basis for a lawsuit against fans simply chanting “Let’s Go Brandon”. Here is one more example of a misleading thread title. I do agree that NASCAR does wear its “wokeness” on its sleeve, however.
