BREAKING: @dbongino announces he is creating a "fund" to help employees fired by Cumulus over its controversial vaccine mandate, pledging $250K of his own money.
Ultimately, he says he wants the fund to help people across the nation, including cops and first responders

I suspect Dan compromised after the show was literally on the line. It was never about him being vaccinated it was about his opposition to other employees being fired for not being vax’d. I guess this fund he is setting up is part of the compromise..

YES! He’s locked and loaded today. He opened with a synopsis of his radio show situation, which is still up in the air, and it doesn’t sound terribly promising...I really missed him last week, and checked every day to see if it was live, as I did today, and THERE HE WAS! I sure hope the two parties can come to some agreement.

I don’t know that for sure... just reading between the lines... he’s a bit cagey. He was more critical of other ‘conservatives’ for trying to take his spot than about Cumulus firing employees over the mandates.
He clearly said "you can have me or the Mandate. Not both" Well, now they have the mandate and Bongino.

Dan is a good guy, but he set himself up, put himself in a corner. Anyone who has kept up with how Cumulus treats radio stations and TV local networks knows that Cumulus has a
HoneyBadger kind of attitude for personal problems.
They ruined many of my favorite Bay Area radio talk stations back in 2011. Replaced great people with recorded commercial programming.
Maintaining or growing the entity is the only thing they ‘care’ about. Cumulus as an industry remains rather faceless.
And they do that for a reason. It’s harder to attack something without a face. There is no Zuck or Roger Goodell to throw virtual cream pies at.
He hasn’t said he is back for good.... seems like they are still talking. We’ll see...

Is he a Cumulus employee? Why not “fire” and rehire him as independent contractor? A lot of hosts work out of their homes or other remote locations. He can wear a maks if he absolutely has to meet with Cumulus folks and they require it.
I don’t believe it has anything to do with masking.. he’s against the fact that Cumulus is firing employees who aren’t vax’d. I don’t think that would change if he were an independent contractor.

Is he vaxxed? I thought he wasn’t. No matter. Glad he’s back and trying to stand up for the unvaxxed.
Just thought if he wasn’t and not taking the shot, he (and his staff) could get off their payrolls and hire himself/themselves out to them if they want him to host a show.
No Bongino is not a Cumulus employee. He has a contract with Cumulus to syndicate his talk show. Bongino owns his talk show and has his own employees as well as working with Cumulus radio employees and Fox Nation which airs the video of his talk show!
He has lymphoma so yes, he’s vax’d...
