He was imprisoned for conducting a mass. That is what he did on the day in question. 20 witnesses contradicted his accusers testimony

So... he conducted a Mass and 20 people said he didn't?

As always, I’m sure you’re just being obtuse.

He conducted a Mass as he was supposed to. Many people attending.

Following service he joined parishioners outside and then came back in to the sacristy to disrobe. Remove heavy cardinal robes and white alb. He was fully clothed under his vestments.

His accusers say he molested them while disrobing. There is a view of the sacristy that is visible to the laity. There were approximately 20 witnesses that say nothing amiss happened. (even one of the accusers retracted their claims later).

Cardinal Pell has been at the forefront of stopping pedophile priests and has done much good for the RCC. He is truly a hero of that church that has been made to suffer a great deal.

In full disclosure, I am not RCC, and disagree with much of their teachings and have a dislike of where Francis has brought that church. I will not however slander (or libel) a good man like Pell.
