CNN tried to sell a false headline alleging that a fraction of the world’s richest man’s wealth could solve world hunger.
CNN’s story was headlined, “2% of [Tesla co-founder and CEO] Elon Musk's wealth could solve world hunger, says director of UN food scarcity organization.” The lede paragraph asserted that “A small group of ultra-wealthy individuals could help solve world hunger with just a fraction of their net worth, says the director of the United Nations' World Food Programme [David Beasley.]” But the story’s lede offers a completely different context than what the headline suggested. Saying the rich could “help” solve world hunger with a fraction of their wealth is vastly different from saying two percent of one man’s wealth — even if he is the most wealthy in the world — “could solve world hunger” as the headline stated. CNN later issued a correction at the bottom of the story correcting the spin.
Twitter users ripped the initial headline apart.

How much does CNN contribute to world hunger?
“Math’s hard’,” say airhead Barbie propagandettes.
CNN needs to be liquidated to “help” solve world hunger now!
Time to walk the walk.
If the Tyrants quit stealing the money meant for the needy, it could easily be solved.
Wouldn’t even put a dent in Brian Stelter’s donut budget.
Musk has already hit back at the UN creep who originally came up with that nonsense.
The corrupt, sleazy low lives at the UN never miss an opportunity to steal money from other people, especially from rich white men.
Where was the UN when Musk went through hell building his companies?
The UN food program took in over $8.5 Billion last year.
And plenty of people still went hungry worldwide.
Nobody in their right mind would contribute a penny of their money to any UN outfit.
They steal most of the money coming in any way.
The problem is that people who can’t feed their children keep having children who in turn will be unable to feed their own children. Stop that process and you’ll have a shot at “solving” hunger.
Give it to somebody reliable like Food For the Poor.
No it would not. Billions of other people would stop working and rush for the money and food. Soon Musk’s money would be gone and they’d be asking bezos/gates for a contribution.
To stop world hunger, get everybody working productively!
Fact is that most of the food aid goes to the people running the county in question, and only a pittance to the people in need. Nothing has changed for tens of decades or more.
the mindest of selfishness “do as i please” is the root needing to be dealt with. all else stems from it.
False claims from CNN ?
Imagine that !
Wonder why they didn’t use Gates, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Dorsey or Soros for their example . . .
How about we tap into the endowment funds of Harvard , Yale, etc.
Elon Musk is responsible for how he uses his wealth to God.
Not to CNN.
(Old data from my college days) In 1990, Almost 8 calories were consumed in getting 2 calories to your mouth. If a government creates infrastructure government that is more efficient than that the people prosper. Increase that number and people starve. It is up to government to lower obstacles and world hunger can be solved.
Scientific American now says American uses 10 calories are to get 1 calorie to your mouth. That suggests there is trouble ahead.
