Don’t forget to add nuts to your diet as well.
Fruit and veggies in their natural state have fiber–that fiber gets dissipated in smoothies, and completely eliminated in juice.

Juicers strain out the fiber. I think it’s still there in smoothies.
Been telling family and friends for a LONG time that there are three keys to health (IMHO): water, weight and sleep. Exercise is a great addition, but if you take care of those three things you’ll avoid many health issues.
I had many issues, depression, anxiety, leg and hip pain, joint pain and stiffness, dry patchy skin etc though I was only take a med for hbp and I am 59
My legs hurt so bad I dreaded having to walk through Lowes.
I was terrified in a a few short years I would be forced to use a scooter kit was getting that bad.
Earlier in the year I totally changed my lifestyle, zero junk food, no pop, cut out fried foods, cut out red meat but eat an occasional steak, walk every day 1-3 miles, lift weights, Plenty of skinless chicken and fish and tons of salads.
I fell 100% better in 7 months. I actually feel age 35-40 again. The depression and anxiety is down quite a bit. Lost a bunch of weight.Sleep 100% better.
My legs no longer hurt, my skin looks 20 years younger, my legs are no longer swelled up and discolored...and they no longer hurt.
I could go on an on.
If you all were like me and have not done so something to consider.
I want to add:
I have always had a full head of hair but noticed I was shedding a lot over the last 4-5 years.
Since changing my lifestyle the shedding stopped.
I also drink about a gallon of water every day
My eyesight has also improved.
“...lift weights...”

I don’t go around preaching this, but I think that’s key. Resistance exercise doesn’t just strengthen muscles and bones, it changes your biochemistry in ways that cardio (low resistance) exercise does not. It’s about hormones and metabolism. in ways that cardio (low resistance) exercise does not.
I’m not trying to minimize the other changes that you made, but I would suggest that this is key.
You don’t need fruit. Fruit is another name for sugar. You don’t need veggies, although they are OK. You don’t need fiber. Period. Particularly insoluble fiber. After all, if the body needed it, why would it eliminate 100% of it?
Foods have more vitamin a than we need. The government forces milk sellers to add vitamin a to skim milk. Excess vitamin a causes bone problems.
Juicers strain out the fiber. I think it’s still there in smoothies.
Agreed. Blenders don’t negate the benefits of fiber in fruits and vegetables.

I tried following this advice a few years ago. As a result my weight started to climb, I was feeling bad and my blood pressure was going out of control as well as other signs of inflammation. I already made an effort to avoid refined sugars so that wasn’t my problem.
I abandoned the fruits and high carb veggies, switched to a low carb/high fat diet. I quickly lost 30lbs, my blood pressure and other problems went away and I look and feel better than I did 20 years ago. I always believed fruit and fiber were necessary to a healthy diet, but now I know it is not for me.
Mega dittos.
Yes ...about 40 + years ago
Great for you! My body tells me when I eat processed food...
You’re nuts.
Colon cancer is one of the cancers that responds well to screening. Now they say to start getting colonoscopies at age 50. But I believe if you have a family history you can start younger.
