More than 300 black churches across Virginia are expected to desecrate their sanctuaries by broadcasting a video message from Vice President Kamala Harris. The video, which you can watch below, urges black voters to support Democrat gubernatorial nominee Terry McAuliffe.
CNN first reported that the video message that will air during morning services from now until election day as part of an outreach effort aimed to boost McAuliffe.
Harris said her time growing up in Oakland’s 23rd Avenue Church of God taught her it was a “sacred responsibility” to “lift up the voices of our community.”
“I believe that my friend Terry McAuliffe is the leader Virginia needs at this moment,” says Harris, before praising McAuliffe’s “long-track record of getting things done for the people of Virginia.”Harris implores congregants to vote following church service.
This video appears to be a direct violation of the Johnson Amendment.
In 1954, Congress approved an amendment by Sen. Lyndon Johnson to prohibit 501(c)(3) organizations, which includes charities and churches, from engaging in any political campaign activity. To the extent Congress has revisited the ban over the years, it has in fact strengthened the ban. The most recent change came in 1987 when Congress amended the language to clarify that the prohibition also applies to statements opposing candidates.
Currently, the law prohibits political campaign activity by charities and churches by defining a 501(c)(3) organization as one “which does not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.”

Haven’t you heard? Nothing is illegal now. As long as it’s the Rats doing it.
That’s quite a pitch; saying that God wants people to vote for the overwhelming godless Democrat Party!
Surprised God didn’t striker her dumb.
Trump repealed the Johnson amendment so I don’t think it is illegal anymore but WHY IN THE HELL are WE not doing the same thing???
“..Surprised God didn’t striker her dumb....”.
Well, I think He already has....she’s dumber than a box of rocks...with apologies going out to the rocks.
Actually, He did.
And ugly, too.
Question is- WHERE are the GOP raising a stink over this illegal act and calling for an investigation?
Could illegal and a mortal sin, who is going to do anything about it, nobody! It’s our fault not fighting back.
Do blacks care what Harris has to say. Could be a major backfire on the Dems.
They have been doing this for years. The so-called republicans have allowed it, and now it is standard practice. Nothing new. It only becomes an issue if a republican does the same thing.
When will American blacks finally get fed up with being pandered to and propagandized by the Democrats?
Bitch didn’t grow up in Oakland, or as a Christian.
too many white christian churches are lead by wimps...soft, milk toast types...
She’s already dumb.
This has always been okay as long as Democrats do it - including speaking from the pulpit and passing out campaign literature in the church itself.
Everyone should be contacting Congress to file a lawsuit and criminal complaint.
If this stuff was done in a white church, that church would be in trouble with the IRS.
“ When will American blacks finally get fed up with being pandered to and propagandized by the Democrats?”
When will they figure out her family was big in the slave trade biz?
Don't think so. There was an effort, but it did not succeed. The Amendment is still in force, even though it is never enforced against Black churches.
