Sounds cagey. Ban container ships, thereby breaking the longshoreman union as the work dries up...
It’s gotta be the water out there, what is freakin’ wrong with these dunder-heads?
There’s a bunch of problems with the idea, none of which are insurmountable. But the more rail you use, the better, even in Mexico. The Mexican government needs to be enthusiastically on board. It goes on and on.
It’s California. Better her than the likely Democrat alternative.
What a maroon
When communists take power, they immediately ration almost everything. I’ve mentioned previously this great book by author Shirley Christian “Nicaragua, A Revolution in the Family.”. Before the Sandinista communists took over, there were thriving Farmers Markets in every large and small town. Farmers would bring their crops to sell and barter. The day after the commies took power, those Farmers Markets were illegal, and all food, and food production, belonged to ‘the people’ (government). They even limited the availability of paper, thus silencing any opposition. They openly bragged about the freedom of the press, while denying the paper.
SloJo and Obama cannot, yet, confiscate everything, so they are accomplishing the same result with their current government-created Port logjams. Truckers with the ‘wrong’ truck are not allowed into the Kalifornia ports.
Disgusting, evil.
I’ve been told here that whether or not you notice supply shortages depends upon what you need to buy, and I understand that. But I don’t understand all the ‘No Christmas/gifts for the kids won’t arrive’ messages that we’re receiving.
Where I am, we don’t see shortages of any kind in the stores - we’ve been able to buy everything we normally need and use (including plenty of toilet paper).
I recently purchased a made-in-china artificial Christmas tree - came in two days. A few weeks ago, I bought something from Hong Kong that came - directly FROM Hong Kong - in a week.
I realize that I live on the East coast in a big metropolitan area, and I’m not buying building materials; but it would be interesting to know what other people around the country want for Christmas and anticipate that they will be unable to receive in time.
She represents the district that elected Dana Rohrabacher to Congress several times...Rohrabacher lost to a Democrat a few years ago...Michelle Steel beat that Democrat last year...
She represents Huntington Beach...She better let the voters in that city know that she is really concerned about the oil spill...Or her Democratic opponent will attack her next year for not concerned about the oil spill...
Her husband Shawn has a law office in Orange County...He used to have an office in Los Angeles County...
I went to her husband's office a long time ago...After a car accident...
By the way, her husband was involved with CA GOP...
She’s a dunce. Break bulk freight is much less efficient than container. Also finding enough carrier’s would be a nightmare.
One of those containers would be just about the right size to hold all the California Demagogic Party elected officials. Don't worry, there will be a couple of air holes. And running water, once it "falls off" the deck.
Secretary of Non-Transportation Pete Buttigieg is set to go on Eternity Leave while the nation grapples with major supply-chain disruption.
Part of what’s happening isn’t just the supply side, it’s the demand side. Demand is off the charts. Retail sales are through the roof. If you think about those images of ships, for example, waiting at anchor on the west coast, every one of those ships is full of record amounts of goods that Americans are buying, because demand is up, because income is up, because the president has successfully guided this economy out of the teeth of a terrifying recession.”
“Now the issue is, even though our ports are handling more than they ever have, record amounts of goods coming through, our supply chains can’t keep up,” he claimed.
