When the retired ICE special agent reached the TSA agent, he was asked for identification. Avila asked why he should have to show identification to fly when the entire family in front of him didn’t have to provide any identification? The TSA agent became hostile and demanded he provide ID or they would refuse to allow him to pass through security. Avila asked the TSA agent, “Do you remember 9/11? You are the DHS! You just allowed three people from Africa that are illegal in this country, but you won’t allow me, a US citizen and retired federal agent, to board without an ID? This is upside down and backwards!”

TSA is a joke. Always has been.

And yet I, a Natural Born, lifelong American Citizen, US Military veteran, am not allowed to fly on a commercial airline, because my state issued drivers license does not meet the specifications required by the feds, and my passport is expired.

(Not that I actually WANT to fly anywhere. I won’t even enter a commercial airport, not since the first time I went to one after the TSA was established.)

Kabuki Theatre. That’s all it’s ever been. It’s the same as the masks and the shots - a way to placate the masses, but not the average, or above average, folk.

Case in point, I flew in the last month, and while I couldn’t take an unopened bottle of water, I was allowed to fly with my laptop bag, which contained several screwdrivers with long handles as I routinely have to rack/de-rack network equipment. I mean, these are 8-12 inches long, Phillips, flat head, even hex. Nary a word said about my screwdrivers, but oh no, the bottle of Bai coconut water had to go.

For enforcers (security, police, HR), thinking is expressly forbidden. Which is why they are useless against any real problem that doesn’t fit the rules they have been given.

Anyone intelligent who truly wants to cause trouble just changes tactics and tools and renders the enforcers moot.
