This sort of corruption is actually penny ante stuff. Robinson got caught because she was stupid about how she did it. In actuality, all politicians at every level are on the take in one way or another. The worst corruption is in DC where unimaginable trillions of taxpayer dollars slosh around, and grifters from around the world all jostle for a piece of it. We are all stuck with the legacy of the late 19th and early 20th centuries “reformers” who maneuvered to make an income tax constitutional.
