Aside from maneuvering a big tractor trailer around, which is obvious, there's the part unseen: That big truck has maybe an 18 or 24 speed NON-SYNCHRONIZED transmission. It takes months of training and practice to drive one.
...and no, that doesn't mean myself, either. I would barely have a clue what to do, and would probably destroy a transmission, just like anyone else.
So... this guy might be onto something, or maybe he might not be either. I haven't heard news of a "truckie" strike materializing in Australia, let alone the US. Something to ponder...

They are automatic.(or can be. Some still order gear grinders because they don’t trust computers) They are called ultra shifts
