Did you check the active ingredients, to make sure the ordered paste does not contain the biting fly medicine? If it does contain that you should not take any of it since it can shuyt you liver down.
Durvet Ivermectin Paste Equine Dewormer
Ivermectin 1.87%.
I read up on all of the details on what to buy and how to properly dose by weight. Hopefully I won’t need to use it, but thanks for the heads up.
Apple flavor - yum!
Just have to mention: You don't have to take the horse paste or the pills. The injectible Ivermectin from Tractor Supply is a piece of cake--and you don't have to inject it. You take it orally in a shot of water or vodka and chase with more water. It's not marketed for horses, but for swine and cattle. It's a clear gel, is easy to measure out with a measuring syringe from any big drugstore, and dissolves easily. And it doesn't take much. As I recall the dosage is 1 ml/110 lbs. body weight.
I've seen people with Coup Flu symptoms start feeling better in a few hours.
