i think the reason for no pushback might be because she adjourned or something and there has been no opportunity under house rules to read the names into the record.
if one just reads the names on the floor without permission from the acting chair of the session, then a couple of things could happen:
* be gaveled down as out of order
* be dragged off by the sergeant at arms
* result in the meeting be adjourned indefinitely until further notice
a potential way around these possible blocking strategies, imaginably, is to gain floor chair recognition during discussion of some other issue, and then simply start reading off the names into the record in real time. it is not clear to me that she can prevent reading of the names indefinitely...
Congress is out for the summer. They run a sham called pro foram sessions each three days. Been going on for maybe ten years.
Congress abuses every parliamentary and constitutional rule in existence. A lawless bunch.
The time for “Parliamentary Procedures” will soon be past, unless someone with decency, integrity and a spine stands up to her.
Let the “Sergeant at Arms” haul one Congressman out. Another should stand up & continue, if necessary, until the Chamber is empty.
