“What on earth for?”

Because I’m very familiar with Windows and Office so I know how to use them.

I also like that you can find books that teach you step-by-step how to use Windows or Office. I like having such info on paper outside the machines. I buy them at bookstores, and they’re not cheap. Typically, they cost $40-$50 each. They are much easier to get accurate info from than it is from the Web.. They are not written by Microsoft.

Trying to find the info you need online is hit or miss.

I don’t want another Mac at this time. I’m not familiar with any other operating system outside of Windows and iOS.

OK. I understand what you are saying.

Do yourself a favor, and try LibreOffice. It's free and runs on any OS. You can try it and see if you like it. It will also recognize, open, and edit your existing files.

I really think you'll be surprised at how easy it is to pick up--especially if you've already been using MS Office.

If you end up not liking it, you can always just uninstall it.
