Excellent read.

It fits most of what I know.

Of course, the media is also a controlling/controlled part of this.

Just look at the Afghanistan “retrograde” maneuver, i.e. bugout. It is how incompetent people do things when they decide that what they will not do is anything that Trump would have done. That is not a rational criteria for anything and they have made themselves into an international laughing stock, made fools of by the Taliban who we have been on guard against for 20 years.

You think that was "incompetent? It was planned that way. It is a feature. They want the USA taken down a notch or three!

No. You need to spend some time in DC. It is utter incompetence. McKenzie called the bugout the “joint tactical exfiltration.” Speaking this gobbledygook instead of plain English is just a sign of the utter bloated incompetency of the DC establishment.

PS If you read the neighborhood blog for Northwest DC you would understand how utterly thoroughly lost the bureaucrats who pretend to rule you are.

You think they are competent and this was of a set purpose? The idiots running this brought down a heap of scorn and derision on their heads of a magnitude they could not have comprehended when they started this.

Gratuitous and OT comments serve no purpose.

I just love it when people post to a forum and then think they get to set all the rules for replies. It doesn't really work that way. If someone posts something you don't approve of just ignore it, grow a thicker skin and move on... Sheesh!

The founding fathers knew that the state capitals with the state legislatures would have their own agendas, and the appointing governor as well.. yes possible corruption

It would prevent the consolidation of power with the party bosses and large Financial donors in Washington DC that we currently have

The makeup of who is in the Senate be significantly different than what it has been for the past 70 years and those that are there even with their state capitol bent would have to have a completely different consensus on what federal laws and budgets and such they would want to put forward for vote for..

I honestly don’t think Joe Biden would have been a senator, Nor would Jeanne Shaheen, more than 85% of the current senators wouldn’t make it if the 17th amendment was repealed.

Think about it, if your Governor has to put forth a citizen of your state, and then the state house, both the State Senate and State House of Representatives have to give that individual a simple majority vote, do you really think the current crop of senators would be sitting in Washington DC? Do you think the uniparty, Democrats or Republicans would have influence as they have today with the money train? K Street would have to be in every State Capitol, and who your state senator would matter, who your State House of Representatives would matter and who you voted for governor would matter. It’s a pretty ingenious way of making sure too much power doesn’t get concentrated in Washington DC. I honestly believe we don’t have a republic until the 17th Amendment is repealed

The "bureaucrats" are likely incompetent.

Who was pushing them to do this? The Obama group and his backers. Obama has always wanted the US taken down/restructured.

Who wants the US taken down? China, Iran, Russia, somewhat, the European Union who want a global government.

Who has the Biden administration favored with its foreign policy? China, Iran, Russian (somewhat), the European Union who want a global government.

Just ask yourself, who benefits? Think the Hunter Biden Laptop, the Chinese deals, the Ukraine deals, the Russian deals.

The bureaucrats may think they are calling the shots. They are not. Biden supposedly went directly against the advice of the intelligence networks.

Yes, we traded State level corruption for Federal level corruption. It is worse at the higher level.

Over the last 15 years, we have reached the precipice in which we are told what kind of comments should be posted on a freerepublic thread. We are no longer free.

The tyranny and authoritarianism manifests itself with the demand to actually read the article. How do we fix this mess?

The Fourth Estate has long since passed into the final stages of Jerry Pournelle's Iron Law of Bureaucracy, to wit:

Pournelle's Iron Law of Bureaucracy states that in any bureaucratic organization there will be two kinds of people":

First, there will be those who are devoted to the goals of the organization. Examples are dedicated classroom teachers in an educational bureaucracy, many of the engineers and launch technicians and scientists at NASA, even some agricultural scientists and advisors in the former Soviet Union collective farming administration.

Secondly, there will be those dedicated to the organization itself. Examples are many of the administrators in the education system, many professors of education, many teachers union officials, much of the NASA headquarters staff, etc.

The Iron Law states that in every case the second group will gain and keep control of the organization. It will write the rules, and control promotions within the organization.

For those who aren't SF fans, Pournelle worked in the aerospace program during the transition, so he saw it first hand

Let’s look at the solution offered up by Sundance.
God bless him.
It seems like it would be easier to paddle a canoe up Niagara Falls but, since nobody wants to die fighting the beast then this is it.

“♦ WHAT NOW? There is a way to stop the Intelligence Branch, but it requires some outside-the-box thinking and reliance on the Constitution as a tool to radically change one element within government. In the interim, we must remain focused on the three tiers that we need for success.

• Tier One is “tactical civics” at a local level. Engaged and active citizen participation at the community, city, town and hamlet level of society. This is what might be described as grassroots level. School Board level; City Council level; County Commissioner level.

• Tier Two is “extreme federalism” at a state level. Engaged and active citizen participation through your State House and State Senate representative. This is state level assembly and action demands upon the House, Senate and State Governor.

• Tier Three the challenge of “federal offices” on a national level. This is where CTH will present a singular action that can be taken upstream that allows the first two tiers to retake control over federal offices. This is where we throw the One Ring into the fire of Mordor. CTH has tested this approach with a multitude of political allies who accept and understand the issue. All eventually agreed with the solution at a federal level; it won’t be easy, but it will be possible.

I am confident that ultimately We The People will win. Details on the “One Ring” solution will come soon, perhaps as early as tomorrow; in the interim, tactical civics and extreme federalism are doable right now, in this 2022 election cycle.”

I have absolutely zero confidence in the 2022 election process after witnessing the 2020 fiasco. Confidence can begin to be restored if, and only if; the 2020 election is fully rectified, all those responsible (especially those calling the shots) are held accountable for their treason as well as violating the trust of the American people in what used to be a sacred and honorable election process, a thorough “flushing” of all voter rolls throughout the US, mail-in voting only under very limited and verifiable circumstances, and stringent voter ID laws upheld in all states.

As things currently stand in many areas of the country, major candidate voting is a complete waste of time and effort as the fix is already in.

Possibly yes, journalism in the 1900s was the same as CNN today.

Corruption is going to occur. The real three card monty played on America was letting the parties decide who gets funded or chosen for an election. This is how the uniparty rules us all.. its how come we end up with the bush’s, McCain etc..

I wish I shared your confidence. We The Sheeple will do nothing about this. Angrily blogging will be the extent of their action plan.

I’m not that confident in elections at all.

I’m also sure that conservatives won’t demonstrate, write their congressmen, or attend city and schools meetings. There will be no unity and no action.

That would be my fear but, we should not be so demoralized.
What good is it being an Eeyore. I'm trying to NOT be one. If not for my faith, I would probably be in jail by now. My tagline is important to me, even when I say stupid things. It's plagiarized from some theologist dude.😇
