Really have to wonder what happened to the British legacy nations of Australia, New Zealand and Canada. IMHO the severe, permanent, genetic losses of the endemic population due to severe casualties between 1914 and 1945 and the replacement of the lost with diverse immigrants, changed those countries forever.

I’m indeed to agree. Western civilization died during that double-war but we were so technologically superior at that point the corpse just coasted along... until now.
It is really sad, I agree. But look in the mirror and see what is happening in the USA, it is just as bad, if not worse than the countries you mention. Nothing has hurt the USA’s reputation more than Biden’s inept leadership and diaster in Afghanistan.
