Kabul: Benghazi, Déjà vu All Over Again!

American citizens trapped behind enemy lines. All safe routes to the nearest airport severed.

Information received that the U.S. Cavalry will not be on the way. Cowardly administrators refused to send military help and went to bed with their binkies. Americans were left to die. Good luck and Godspeed. Kabul? Nope, that was Benghazi, Libya in 2012.

Members of the Islamic militant group Ansar al-Sharia attacked two U.S. government facilities. The U.S. ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, and Sean Smith were murdered. Then the militant group turned their attention to a not-so-secret CIA annex located approximately one mile away. They attacked the compound with plans to slaughter all inhabitants. Despite repeated calls for air support, no assistance was ever rendered. Nada. Someone, up the chain of command, issued a stand-down order. The Americans were left to die. Two CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, both former Navy Seals, ignored the stand-down order and sacrificed their lives to protect the Americans stranded in the annex. After the debacle, Hillary Clinton said, “What difference at this point does it make?” Joe Biden was vice president at the time and was briefed with Obama on the attack and the imminent threat to American lives.

Fast forward to 2021. It’s déjà vu all over again. American citizens trapped behind enemy lines in Kabul, Afghanistan. All safe routes to the nearest airport severed. Information received that the U.S. Cavalry will not be on the way. Biden continuously ignored wise advice from the DOD and other intelligence agencies to avoid this disaster. Incompetent Biden holds a press conference and talks about …wait for it…getting a booster shot for COVID. Joe completely avoids addressing the pachyderm in the room and has no plans to save the trapped Americans who are pleading for his help. Biden then goes on vacation to Delaware for a pleasant weekend. Ringing any bells?

‘What difference, at this point, does it make?’ —Hillary Clinton

You know, somebody should tell Sleepy Joe to start using that line. See what happens.

When we had hostages taken in Iran years ago under Jimmy Carter the same thing happened at the Russian Embassy. The Russians informed Iran that the bombers were in the air and on the way and they were. Their hostages were released.
